MAGIC SKY

A new CD by Emily Granger and Claire Edwardes

This latest CD by Emily Granger in collaboration with Claire Edwardes is an absolute treat for all harp lovers, the combination of harp and marimba a match made in heaven - you can tell, I just love it.

The sound of the marimba complements the harp perfectly and vice versa. The combination of the two sounds seem to deepen and intensify each one of them.

This CD is published by the HUSH foundation (https://www.hush.org.au) . According to Emily’s website, she and Claire explored the experience of waiting in hospital spaces and were inspired to create an offering that aimed to ease the anxiety patients and families face at this time.

Well, it works for me: the relaxation and stillness that comes across for me is truely magic.

There are quite a few pieces by Elena Kats-Chernin and a few other female, Australian composers that I am not familiar with. And then there is one song ‚Aniva Star Goddess‘ that is a composition of our ‘very own‘ Natalia Mann ! A gorgeous song on a beautiful album (hope to hear more music composed by Natalia in the future).
